Bulk Waste Transfers – Goldfields & Mid-West

Bulk Waste Transfers in the Goldfields and Mid West

Shutdown waste builds up quickly between pit and tank cleanouts, contaminated soil, plant maintenance, oil-contaminated workshop materials and liquid waste. To keep sites safe and productive, it needs to be cleared without interrupting the shutdown programme.

GCW runs bulk waste transfers to do exactly that. We manage solid, liquid and contaminated waste under our “A to Z” controlled licences, with crews and trucks permanently based in Kalgoorlie, Leonora and Geraldton.

How Bulk Waste Transfers Work

We scope the expected requirements with your shutdown coordinator in advance, so we can plan the appropriate vehicles and disposal pathways. Because our haulage fleet and crews are based in your region, waste moves on your schedule – no waiting on a FIFO crew from Perth.

For liquid waste, our haulage fleet ranges from 6,000L rigid trucks to 50,000L double road train tankers. GCW also has trucks and trailers for solid waste, scrap metal and skip bins, as well as industrial vacuum trucks with purpose-designed attachments. Every controlled load is tracked and documented to support compliance and ESG reporting.

Bulk Waste Transfer FAQs

What is a bulk waste transfer?

A bulk waste transfer moves a larger volume of accumulated waste for appropriate treatment or disposal. For mining shutdowns, this commonly means clearing liquid or solid waste generated during maintenance, cleaning tanks and pits, and removing scrap metal.

Can GCW transfer both liquid and solid waste?

Yes, GCW provides bulk transfers for both liquid and solid waste. We hold licences for controlled waste categories A to Z, and have a diverse fleet with capacity for a range of materials. The vehicle and transport arrangement depend on the waste type, classification, volume and site access, so let us know what material you have and we’ll confirm the appropriate handling pathway.

Can GCW transfer bulk waste from remote sites?

Yes, our crews, fleet and infrastructure are permanently based in Kalgoorlie, Leonora and Geraldton. Where other bulk waste transfer companies dispatch from Perth, we mobilise from in-region. Our service areas include Kalgoorlie, Leonora, Geraldton, Menzies, Laverton, Leinster, Wiluna, Meekatharra, Cue, Newman, and the sites and communities in between.

Is the bulk waste transfer and disposal documented?

Yes. Every controlled waste load moves through WA’s Controlled Waste Tracking System, and GCW has documented management and disposal pathways for all waste categories. We operate to the standards your head office demands, and we can demonstrate it.

What equipment does GCW use for bulk liquid waste?

GCW’s haulage fleet ranges from 6,000L rigid trucks through to 50,000L double road train tankers. Our vehicles are DWER- and MRWA-certified to transport controlled and contaminated waste. We also have purpose-designed vacuum truck attachments for mining applications such as tank and pit pump-outs.
