How Industrial Vacuum Loading Works

Industrial vacuum loading is the recovery of liquid, semi-solid or suitable dry material using high-powered suction. On mining and industrial sites, it is a common solution for tank residues, bogged pits, sludge, slurry and material that has settled inside equipment or is difficult to move with mechanical equipment.

The operator positions the hose at the tank, pit, sump or container. An industrial vacuum blower creates the airflow needed to lift material through the suction hose and into the truck’s holding tank. Recovered material is transported in licensed vehicles and disposed of through approved pathways.

Yes, GCW supports planned and unplanned shutdowns with vacuum loading services. We scope the work with your shutdown coordinator in advance (where possible), and mobilise mine-spec trucks and crews from in-region. Day, night and standby coverage is also available through the shutdown.

How does GCW dispose of waste from vacuum loading?

Recovered liquid and controlled waste is transported by licensed crews to approved facilities through EPA- and DWER-compliant pathways. Every controlled waste load is tracked through WA’s Controlled Waste Tracking System. We have documented waste management and disposal pathways for all waste streams.
