Residential Waste Management – Goldfields & Mid-West

Skip Bin Hire and Rubbish Removal For WA Households

Planning a garage clear-out, garden clean-up or renovation? GCW provides skip bins from 3m³ to 30m³, with fast drop-off and collection from our established depots in Kalgoorlie, Leonora and Geraldton.

What Skip Bin Sizes Are Right for Household Use?

As a rule of thumb, 1m3 of skip bin capacity is equal to 4 wheelie bins or 1 standard trailer load. The right size depends on the job you’re tackling.

A smaller 3m3, 4m3 or 6m3 bin suits a weekend project or garage clean-out. Renovations and larger property clean-ups may need 10m3 capacity or more. And if you’re knocking down or building, you may need 15m3 to 30m3.

What can I put in a residential skip bin? What isn’t allowed?

In most cases, you can put the following in a household skip:

  • General household rubbish
  • Furniture
  • Renovation and demolition debris*
  • Garden and green waste
  • Timber
  • Cardboard
  • Old appliances

*Chemicals, asbestos, batteries, gas bottles, some liquids, paint tins, car tyres and other hazardous materials cannot go into a general household skip. Sand, concrete, bricks and tiles can only go in residential skips 12m3 and smaller due to weight restrictions.

Accepted waste varies by bin type and disposal pathway. Tell GCW what you plan to load when booking so we can confirm the correct bin and identify anything that needs separate handling.

How long can I keep the bin for?

You can keep the skip for as long as you need it. Most people keep a residential bin for a few days to a week.

We will agree the hire period when you book. If you need more time or an earlier collection, call the team and we’ll confirm whether it’s possible.

Which towns does GCW deliver residential skip bins to?

Our established presence in Kalgoorlie, Leonora and Geraldton allows us to support residential waste management throughout the Goldfields and Mid West regions. We make regular runs through Kalgoorlie, Menzies, Leonora, Laverton, Leinster, Wiluna, Meekatharra, Cue, Newman and Geraldton, as well as the surrounding areas.

Give the team a call to let us know your address and we’ll let you know when we can arrive.

Need waste services for a business or mine site? We also work with commercial, industrial, mining and exploration clients.

How much notice do you need for drop-off and collection?

The sooner you can get in touch to book your residential skip, the better, especially over long weekends and school holidays when bins are popular. That said, our trucks and equipment are already in the region. We can often get to you at short notice for a drop-off or collection. Call us to speak with someone who can book your bin as soon as operationally possible.
