Wash Bay & Wash Pad Services – Goldfields & Mid-West

Wash Pad Cleaning in Goldfields & Mid-West

Wash bays collect more than wash water. Mud, sediment, oil, hydrocarbons and other residues build up through normal use and need to be removed to keep pits, sumps and separation systems clear.

GCW’s Wash Bay Services

GCW cleans wash bays and wash pads using industrial vacuum loading and high-pressure cleaning equipment. We can schedule the work as routine maintenance, a standalone cleanout or as part of a larger shutdown waste programme

How Wash Bay Cleaning Works

Temporary vs Permanent Wash Bay Solutions

Wash bays on mine and industrial sites are typically either fixed infrastructure or temporary setups used during shutdowns, construction or short-term projects. GCW cleans and services both permanent and temporary wash bays.

Wash water servicing

Pumping out sumps and separators on permanent or temporary bays, and safely disposing of the recovered material.

Temporary wash bay setups

Relocatable containment for shutdowns and projects, including servicing.

Oily water separator maintenance

Removing built-up oil and sediment

Licensed disposal

Recovered liquid disposed of under our controlled waste licences.

Wash Pad and Wash Bay FAQs

Can GCW set up a temporary wash bay for a shutdown?

Yes, GCW can set up temporary wash bays for a mining shutdown or temporary project. We deploy relocatable containment, service it through the shutdown and remove it at the end.

Does GCW clean oily water separators?

Yes, oily water separator cleaning is part of GCW’s mine-site cleaning and shutdown support capability. We can remove accumulated oily water, sludge and suitable waste using vacuum equipment, either as scheduled maintenance or alongside wash bay, sump and pit cleaning during a shutdown. GCW holds licences for controlled waste categories A to Z, including hydrocarbon-contaminated waste.

Can GCW clean wash bay sumps and pits?

Yes, GCW provides sump and pit cleanouts using industrial vacuum equipment and high-pressure cleaning where required. Our various sized industrial vacuum/jetting trucks can also come with additional trailers available for sites without water supply, and our haulage fleet spans from 6,000L rigid trucks to 50,000L double road train tankers.

How often should a wash bay separator be cleaned?

How often a wash bay should be cleaned depends on how hard it runs and how much oil and sediment it captures. We set a servicing schedule around your washing volumes so the separator keeps performing, and we can also respond when one needs servicing ahead of schedule.

Does GCW provide wash bay cleaning and shutdown support for remote operations?

Yes, GCW supports remote mining operations from our established bases in Kalgoorlie, Leonora and Geraldton. Our permanent in-region presence means we respond faster than a company from Perth, with a skilled local workforce and mine-spec vehicles ready to mobilise.
